Day 1 : Arrival in Amritsar
Arrive in Amritsar and check in at your hotel. Start your day with a visit to the Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib), one of the holiest sites in Sikhism. Spend some time taking in the peaceful atmosphere and exploring the temple complex, including a visit to the holy pool. In the afternoon, head to Jallianwala Bagh, the site of the infamous 1919 massacre. Afterward, have lunch at one of the local eateries known for Amritsari kulchas and lassi. Later, visit the Partition Museum to learn about the historical significance of the 1947 partition. In the evening, you can attend the Wagah Border Ceremony, which is about a 30-minute drive from the city, where the daily flag-lowering ceremony between India and Pakistan takes place.
Day 2 : Explore Amritsar and Travel to Kashmir
Start the morning with a visit to the Mata Lal Devi Temple, a unique site with intricate corridors. Then, head to Kesar Da Dhaba, a famous restaurant serving traditional Punjabi food. After a delicious lunch, take some time to shop for local crafts and textiles at Hall Bazaar. If you have a late afternoon flight, head to the airport for your flight from Amritsar to Srinagar, Kashmir. Upon arrival in Srinagar, check in at your hotel or houseboat on Dal Lake. In the evening, enjoy a Shikara ride on Dal Lake, taking in the beautiful views and the floating market.
Day 3 : Srinagar – City Tour
After breakfast, head out to explore the Mughal Gardens, which include Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi, all offering stunning views and beautifully landscaped surroundings. Then, visit the Shankaracharya Temple, perched on a hilltop with panoramic views of Srinagar. Afterward, enjoy a local lunch before visiting the Hazratbal Shrine, an important religious site located by the shores of Dal Lake. In the late afternoon, visit Srinagar’s bustling market for some shopping. You’ll find traditional Kashmiri handicrafts like Pashmina shawls, carpets, and paper mache items. You can end your day with a relaxing stroll or a second Shikara ride on Nigeen Lake.
Day 4 :- Gulmarg – Full-Day Excursion
Start early for a full-day excursion to Gulmarg, which is about a 1.5-hour drive from Srinagar. In Gulmarg, you can take the famous Gondola cable car to Kongdoori and Apharwat Peak, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. If you visit during winter, enjoy activities like skiing or snowboarding. In summer, you can relax in the lush meadows, go for a short hike, or have a picnic amidst the beauty of nature. After a scenic lunch, you can visit the Gulmarg Golf Course if you're visiting in summer, or just relax and soak in the surroundings. Return to Srinagar in the evening for a cozy dinner, featuring local dishes such as Rogan Josh or Gushtaba.
Day 5 :- Pahalgam – Day Trip
Begin your day with breakfast before heading to Pahalgam, a beautiful hill station located about 2.5 hours from Srinagar. Upon arrival, visit Betaab Valley, a popular spot for nature walks, surrounded by stunning landscapes. You can also visit Aru Valley and Baisaran Valley to enjoy more scenic beauty, or take a peaceful walk along the Lidder River. After a relaxing afternoon, enjoy a traditional Kashmiri lunch. In the evening, return to Srinagar. Depending on your flight schedule, you can either relax at your houseboat or hotel or take one last walk around Dal Lake to reflect on your memorable journey.
